CA Lawton in Minster Ohio is hiring for a Bilingual Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator (EHS Coordinator). The EHS Coordinator is responsible for assisting and guiding each site's compliance with all environmental policies, laws, rules, regulations, work instructions, programs and training requirements. This includes, but is not limited to air quality and permits, SWPPP, Hazardous Materials, Storage Tanks, Hazardous Waste, environmental due diligence, Hazard Communication, Spill Prevention, and industrial hygiene. This position will also assist site leadership in their compliance with EPA, NESHAP, Tier II, TRI, DNR, RCRA, EPCRA, NPDES and other related regulations. Essential Job Duties: Assist site leadership in ensuring that The C.A. Lawton Co is compliant with relevant safety and environmental rules, regulations, and agreements. Complete and submit all required reports, document submissions and correspondence on a timely basis. Work with Facility staff to ensure that we are compliant with relevant rules and regulations, are ready for inspections, and that we respond quickly to and comply completely with any citations. Track and follow up on resolution of outstanding compliance issues. Maintain central databases for all required record keeping. Work with third party compliance services to transfer data, set up site visits, create site compliance calendars, and perform necessary audits. Coordinate and assist in scheduling service providers for air sampling, stack testing, hygiene testing, soil testing, permitting, etc. Gather data, maintain records, and otherwise keep The C.A. Lawton Co’s environmental, health and safety programs well organized and compliant with regulatory agency requirements. Work with the site leader on setting the EHS audit plan and participate as an auditor. Responsible for tracking environmental excellence such as ISO 14000, Green Tier Investigate or review investigation of all accidents. Track data on the required OSHA documents such as the OSHA 300 and 300A. Coordinate and communicate best practices, environmental incidents, and stand downs with all plants. Maintain all necessary records. Coordinate industrial hygiene testing of noise and air and annual exposure employee exposure testing. Assist in compliance reviews, PPE assessments, job hazard analysis/job risk assessments, and communicate the results to site leadership. Focus on injury prevention for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Produce and distribute the daily SHEQ report. Serve as the plant's primary contact for coordination and participation in OSHA inspections and record requests for documentation and interviews. Set evacuation and emergency action plan drills for each site. This includes site tabletop exercises. Oversee and communicate safety metrics. Work with Managers and with Corporate Training team to determine training needs. Prepare educational materials following company standards and best practices. (Support and training will be provided to those who may not have curriculum development skills) Be professional, respectful, and supportive of CA Lawton and its policies and practices. Provide support and guidance to new employees. Follow the prescribed training program including all communications and record keeping. Exhibit expected employee behavior. Examples: Be on time, prepared to train, have good attendance, respect others, and embrace diversity. Present training, interpret and prepare training materials from in English and Spanish. Position Qualifications & Competencies Functional/Technical Skills Organizing and Planning Written Communications Priority Setting Skills & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science, policy, compliance or related field is preferred Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience required. This includes direct experience with at least one of the following regulatory programs: Storm water, wastewater, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air quality, above-ground and below-ground storage tanks, environmental due diligence or other similar programs. Computer: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications Certifications & Licenses: Certifications in environmental programs in preferred Language: Bilingual English-Spanish preferred Why should you choose CA Lawton?
