Duties:Negotiate work injury claims on behalf of injured workers against insurance companiesHandle all aspects of workers' compensation claims for benefits, including medical, disability, and impairmentManage all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, arbitrations, liens, and settlement negotiationsEvaluate and prepare cases for hearings and depositionsReport on hearing, depositions, and appearancesAppear at Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)Prepare correspondence to clients regarding status and updates of active claimsPerform legal research and analyze casesDevelop and recommend case strategyWrite briefs and pleadingsNegotiate settlementsIdentify and retain medical or legal experts as needed for casesProvide guidance to non-attorney team members as neededManage a large caseload effectivelyPerform administrative duties related to the practice of law Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the California State BarSome knowledge of Workers' Compensation Law (willing to train)Demonstrate diligence, strong work ethic, and sound judgmentEffectively manage time and prioritize tasksPossess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and technological skillsAbility to work with a large caseload effectively Certifications:California Bar Admission (Required) Benefits offered:Paid Holidays and Birthdays OffHealth, Dental Vision Insurance401K and Profit SharingPaid Vacations and Sick DaysState-of-the-art technology and the latest Apple productsHeight adjustable standing desksExcellent work/office culture and environmentIndividual officeHighly competitive/above-market rate
