The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline, and be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of biotechnology.Conduct intellectual property due diligence and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses.Provide legal counsel and support on biotech IP matters.Collaborate with clients and senior attorneys on various legal projects.Research and analyze relevant legal issues and case law.Requirements:Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field.Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.2 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Desirable: Previous experience in a law firm setting.Excellent academic credentials.Outstanding organizational and communication skills (both written and oral).Skills:Strong technical background in biological sciences.Proficiency in patent drafting and prosecution.Ability to conduct IP due diligence and FTO analyses.Legal research and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.Education/Certifications:Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related discipline.Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Location: Boston, MA As one of the largest law firms in the U.S. with more than 40 offices, it was founded in 1967.
