Summary Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an ECE Workforce Development Manager . The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and execute a comprehensive early childhood educator recruitment strategy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating, publishing, and distributing informational and educational materials aimed at promoting child care as a rewarding career choice. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, higher education organizations, the child care field, and early childhood educators to expand the recruitment pool and enhance awareness. This position also entails guiding Early Childhood Educators through VTAEYC programs on an individual basis. Duties Educational Material Creation and Distribution: Develop informative and engaging materials that highlight the benefits of a career in child care. Utilize various platforms to publish and distribute materials, including online resources, print materials, and presentations. Training and Professional Preparation: Identify and establish training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills of current and aspiring early childhood educators. Collaborate with educational institutions to integrate child care-focused coursework into existing programs. VTAEYC Annual Conference: Assist in the planning and execution of the VTAEYC Annual Conference, ensuring a successful and engaging event. ECE Workforce Recruitment Campaign: Devise and implement a comprehensive early childhood educator recruitment campaign to reach a diverse audience. Coordinate outreach efforts targeting secondary, post-secondary, and higher education organizations. Organize recruitment events, workshops, and seminars to engage potential candidates. Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including higher education institutions, child care organizations, and early childhood educators. Solicit input and feedback to refine recruitment strategies and campaigns. Recruitment Strategy Development: Work with current staff and consultants to support design and implementation of an effective early childhood educator recruitment strategy to attract qualified individuals to the child care profession. Conduct research to identify emerging trends and best practices in recruitment within the education sector. Develop an Early Childhood Educators Honors Society program and work with internal and external partners to implement statewide Recruitment and Support: Engage with prospective early childhood educators to provide information and support throughout the recruitment process. Collaborate with current early childhood educators across various settings to guide them through professional preparation pathways and programs for career advancement. Access to Educational Grants and Scholarships: Assist individuals in accessing educational grants and scholarships to facilitate their pursuit of higher education in early childhood education. Stay informed about available financial assistance programs and communicate relevant opportunities to potential and current educators. Employer Engagement: Work closely with early childhood education employers in Vermont to ensure they are well-informed about and supported in utilizing programs designed to recruit and retain educators. Outreach to Institutions Influencing Career Pathways: In coordination with the VTAEYC Career Advancement Department, establish and maintain relationships with high schools, higher education institutions, and financial aid counselors to promote early childhood education as a rewarding career. Develop a statewide career exploration guide Provide information about available resources and support for students interested in pursuing a career in early childhood education. Career Awareness Campaign: Elevate the visibility and desirability of early childhood education careers through presentations, career fairs, and other outreach initiatives. Collaborate with educational institutions to organize and participate in events that showcase the opportunities within the early childhood education field. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Commitment to VTAEYC?s mission Commitment to adhere to the following NAEYC Position Statements: Code of Ethical Conduct and Advancing Equity in Early Childhood Education Bachelor?s degree in Education, Marketing, Communication, or a related field preferred. Proven experience in recruitment, outreach, or a related field. Familiarity with the education sector, particularly early childhood education. Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Character Traits Self motivated Good judgment Detail-oriented People-oriented Accountable Adaptable Benefits Compensation & Benefits Full-time, temporary $28.20 per hour PTO including vacation, holidays, and sick time Health insurance premium contribution 100% paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance Access to dental and vision insurance Employer contribution to retirement Laptop provided VTAEYC will provide a $50/month stipend for cell phone and home office expenses. Mileage for work purposes will be reimbursed at the federal rate. Working Conditions Flexible work location within Vermont ; you may either work from home or work out of VTAEYC?s shared office in Chittenden County Hours : primarily daytime, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required Travel : Some travel in-state will be required.
