Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Legal Assistant with 1-3+ years of experience to join our St. Louis Worker's Compensation team. Candidates must be responsible, have the ability to multi-task, possess the ability to organize and maintain files; have excellent technical, and interpersonal skills; have a creative and diplomatic approach to problem solving and a keen sense of organization. We are looking for self- disciplined candidates with a strong work ethic. Gain valuable and real-world legal experience by working alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period through trial and post-trial findings and appeals. Responsibilities: Transcription of dictation Open and close case files Organize and maintain documents in a paper & electronic filing systems Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions Submit invoices for payment to Accounts Payable Skills and Specifications: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs Ability to learn various software applications Must be detail oriented & have the ability to multi-task Education and Qualifications: 1-3+ years of legal experience Familiar with legal/medical terminology Prior Worker's Comp experience preferred, but not required Evans & Dixon provides Midwest business clients with sophisticated legal advice, responsive communications and hands-on industry knowledge.
