The City employs approximately 345 (full-time, part-time, and seasonal) employees in a variety of departments within the organization, such as Office of the City Manager, Building & Planning, Economic Development, Engineer, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing & Communications, Opera House, Police, Public Library, Public Works, and Recreation. Our employees work to serve the residents with responsive customer service and strive to make the City of Woodstock the best community it can be. JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the administrative oversight, visioning, leadership, planning, budgeting, coordinating and management of the Department. This position also plans, develops and implements business retention and recruitment activities; serve as City liaison/ombudsman to the business community; analyze and evaluate economic factors affecting the local business climate; and market and promote the City. The work is performed under the direction of the Executive Director-Business Development. For a complete description of responsibilities, please refer to the Job Description attached. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Business or Public Administration or related field with a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible economic, business and industrial development experience or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be accepted by the City. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with TIF and other related economic financial tools. Previous supervisory experience. SALARY The annual salary range for the Economic Development Director is $112,892 to $163,696, with an anticipated hiring range of $112,892 to $135,000, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
