Director of Early Relational Health Hiring Summer 2024 Mission : Neighborhood Villages designs and scales innovative and collaborative solutions to the biggest challenges facing early education and child care providers serving families with young children ages 0-5 and advances sustainable, equity-driven systems change through advocacy, education, and policy reform. What We Do: Neighborhood Villages advocates for policy reform and designs and implements pilot programs primed for adoption into public policy-and we have a proven track record of success. Through testing new solutions, Neighborhood Villages is driving the policy reform necessary to make change happen by building a stronger child care sector, through providing professional development programming and infrastructure supports to child care providers. Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Director of Early Education Support, the Director of Early Relational Health will guide the implementation of the Early Childhood Multi-Tier System of Support by prioritizing the relationships, well-being, and development of children 0-5 years old and their families. The Director will work closely with leaders, educators, and specialists in partner early childhood programs and migrant shelters to pilot the implementation of a system of early relational health support. The main focus of the Director's role will be to develop and execute a vision for the early relational health system in early childhood through promotion, prevention, and targeted intervention strategies. Duties and responsibilities are detailed below. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Early Education Support, Senior Director of Workforce Programs, and the Director of Teaching and Learning to pilot the Multi-Tiered System of Support in partnering schools and migrant shelters Oversee and facilitate early relational health communities of practice for piloting schools Work with partner programs to identify needs on the Multi-Tiered System of Support that can be met with additional partnership Work as part of a collaborative team to implement social/emotional support with children 0-5 in the Massachusetts emergency shelter system Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, educators, and policymakers to design policies and practices that support early relational health Oversee the development and implementation of evaluation tools and metrics to assess the effectiveness of early relational health programs and initiatives being piloted Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in early childhood development, attachment theory, and relational health, and incorporate this knowledge into program planning and implementation Serve as a spokesperson and representative for the organization on issues related to early childhood development and relational health, both internally and externally Cultivate relationships with stakeholders that support early childhood programming and initiatives Attend, participate in, and represent NV at seminars, conferences, and training Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in early childhood mental health, child development, social work, psychology, public health, or related field preferred At least five years of relevant experience At least three years of supervisory experience while working with a team of at least five people Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development, attachment theory, and early relational health principles Experience working with diverse populations, including families from different cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and stakeholders Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders The ability to collaborate with teams in partner schools and with colleagues at Neighborhood Villages Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and dedication to promoting the well-being of all children, families, and educators Experience in program development, evaluation, and implementation Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices governing early childhood programs and human health services Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Passion for improving outcomes for young children and families and a commitment to advancing early relational health as a priority in public health and social policy Demonstrated ability to enhance and effectively deliver programs to diverse audiences in Massachusetts through knowledge of self, language, culture, and community Willing to pursue professional development opportunities in Circle of Security and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) training Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, especially those who speak Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and Portuguese Compensation and Benefits: Neighborhood Villages is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the professional qualifications and responsibilities of its staff. The salary range for this position starts at $85,000.
