Conservation Landscaper Maranatha Farm is looking for individuals with basic landscaping experience who are interested in assisting with our stewardship programs. The Intention of our 4 year old start-up farm located in Peapack, NJ is to practice regenerative agriculture and forestry. The majority of the work on the farm is based around conservation so residential landscaping experience is not a requirement for this position. Essential Responsibilities Tasks under direction of the Farm Operations Steward: Invasive species management (hand removal, string trimming, mowing, etc.) Conservation grade planting, protecting and watering Trail care (chipping, clearing, trimming) Farm support (harvesting, mulching beds, pasture seeding, etc.) Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by owner Required Skills, Physical Qualifications and Competencies: Prior experience working in outdoor conditions Agricultural experience of any variety is a plus Knowledge of NJ invasive plant species a plus (Stilt Grass, Thistle, Mugwort, etc.) Ability to safely operate power equipment (lawnmowers, chainsaws, string trimmers) Ability to safely operate company vehicles (UTVs, Skidsteer, Pickup truck) Properly use and maintain shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, hand shears, and loppers The ability to repeatedly and safely lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions Excellent interpersonal skills at all times A positive attitude and willingness to learn Compensation Package: Current Position Available May 1st - November 22nd 2024; possibility of advancement to permanent position based on end of season staffing requirements Salary: Commensurate with experience ($15-$25 per hour) Paid Time Off (rate of one 1 hour per 30 hours of service) Housing is not provided with this position Please submit your cover letter and resume to : XXXX@maranatha.farm
