Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a motivated individual to join the Power/Control Systems (PCS) team as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician in Sykesville, Maryland to work our second shift. In the Mission Systems sector, you'll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. The PCS team is a leader in providing Power/Control Systems for naval based customers. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician: Develops assembly instructions for product for first-time-builds. Mentors and trains new and experienced assemblers on newer builds. Gathers and analyzes defect data to identify defect trends. Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions. Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and process improvements. Assists engineering in creating designs and/or developing product, processes. Develops and constructs experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information; documents drawing errors and suggests improvements. Designs, develops, and assembles assembly tooling such as holding fixtures, jigs, dies, harness boards, etc. Adheres to established procedures and practices as required to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate and work with a variety of internal personnel from manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and design engineering. He/she should also be self-directed, organized, and team oriented.MANUMS Basic Qualifications: High school graduate or recognized equivalent (GED) and an additional 2+ years of relevant education and/or experience Experience using MS Office tools Experience as a Manufacturing operator/technician Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance; US citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Power Control Systems and Hardware Experience working on Naval systems. Experience training and/or mentoring other personnel Tooling development and fabrication experience Hands-on assembly and fabrication experience Assembly procedure development experience Experience with general 3D CAD software Salary Range: $47,730 - $114,211The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
