The successful candidate will contribute expertise in Immunology, Virology, or Molecular Biology, leveraging their knowledge to draft and prosecute patent applications, respond to office actions, prepare legal opinions, and conduct prior art searches in cutting-edge fields such as immunotherapy, gene therapy, and cell therapy.Job DutiesDraft and prosecute patent applications in the fields of immunotherapy, gene therapy, cell therapy, and related areas.Respond to office actions and communicate effectively with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Assist in preparing legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate.Conduct thorough prior art searches to inform patent strategies and opinions.Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop and implement intellectual property strategies.RequirementsPh.D. in Immunology, Virology, or Molecular Biology is mandatory.2-4 years of experience in a similar role within a law firm or corporate setting.Strong academic credentials reflecting a commitment to excellence.Admission to practice before the USPTO is a requirement.District of Columbia Bar admission is mandatory.EducationPh.D. in Immunology, Virology, or Molecular Biology.CertificationsAdmission to practice before the USPTO.District of Columbia Bar admission.SkillsExceptional drafting and prosecution skills for patent applications.In-depth knowledge of immunotherapy, gene therapy, and cell therapy.Proficient in conducting comprehensive prior art searches.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.Job LocationWashington, DC A regional powerhouse firm with strong political history, this firm is regarded as the 15th Best Law Firm in the Mid-Atlantic.
