Consultant Qualifications Skill Sets and Qualifications for Lab Consultant: · Minimum 7+ years experience as a clinical or applications analyst, computer technician in a healthcare setting required. · Minimum 5+ years experience establishing laboratory CPOE workflows in ambulatory care and acute care settings with Cerner EMR solutions; must have experience in implementing workflows that occur outside of the laboratory department. · Must have strong experience with CPOE lab workflows in Power Chart. Knowledge of LIS’ is a benefit, but not required. · Have a broad knowledge level of healthcare Information Technology (IT) principles, best practices, and an in-depth understanding of lab workflows to complete moderate to highly complex and multi-faceted assignments. · Strong experience with defining future state laboratory CPOE workflows throughout the full laboratory lifecycle, with particular focus on pre and post analytic phases. · Involvement with large scale EMR implementations in fast paced environments · Experience driving transformational changes in healthcare environments working closely with physicians, nurses, clerks, ancillary department staff, and other key partners · Experience translating future state workflows to Cerner system designs · Familiar with change management/incident.
