Summary The Lead Older Infant Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Lead teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide school age assistants, and resolve parental concerns. The Preschool is looking for a lead teacher that is loving and kind, has knowledge of child development and/or has experience in an infant classroom. Duties Coordinate and implement educational school age program by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices. Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encouragesocial, physical, cognitive and emotional growth. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, daily reports, and parent-teacher conferences. Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintainingappropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children. Lead by example; encourage the school age team success through modeling and coaching. Ensure all program policies and state regulations are met.Maintain accurate records, observation notes for assessments, etc. Maintain both personal and staff professional development plans to ensure continuous quality improvement. Pay is based upon education and/or experience,work ethic and ability to communicate with staff and parents. Requirements Minimum of 1 year experience in a licensed child care setting. Have to be able to get on the floor and play with children.Must be able to lift 35lbs.Must have experience caring for older infants ages 8 months through 18 months. We are looking for a strong candidate to join our team must have education or experience in order to qualify.
