Job Description Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.Do you have experience writing code in C? We need your talents and experience as a Senior Principal Software Engineer on our Space systems team. You will join a team of engineers on a program that provides customers with scalable data processing enabling real-time situational awareness in support of the warfighter. You will have the opportunity to build upon and modernize existing software capabilities. Tired of learning a new program every 6 months? Our position provides stable work on a multi-year contract. Stressed out by a rapid software release cycle? We typically have one major release a year.When you become a member of our team, you will work across multiple disciplines and collaborate with our Systems, Hardware and Test Engineers to impact all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. Our company is part of the community and driven to improve our future and protect our freedom.If you have worked previously in a secure environment and enjoy contributing to a mission that matters, come join us!Job Responsibilities Agile software design, development, test, deployment, and documentation of features and fixes in ongoing releases of fielded software Collaborate with a small multidiscipline team of engineers Work closely with program subject matter experts to learn the code base and identify portions for which to take ownershipPlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline TS Clearance (active within the last two years) and an adjudicated poly Have or able to achieve Security+ certification upon hire At least 8 years of software development experience Proficient in C programming. Experience interfacing with hardware (such as sending data over serial ports) Experience developing on Linux Operating Systems Strong communication, collaboration, & interpersonal skills Proficiency with source code control tools such as git or Bitbucket Ability to work on-site.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) Familiarity with AnsiblePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
