To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.com Thermoform Process Improvement Engineer PURPOSE: To provide planning and technical support for projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of two members to improve output on production lines. Implement process improvements, SOP’s, and PM’s to maximize production. Lead Efforts to implement gram weight reductions and material substitutions. Monitor the daily EFF and MEFF of the lines in a cell. Develop jigs, tooling fixtures and equipment to reduce mold change over times. Determine the proper PM schedules for the specific lines based on the product mix. Determine possible machine upgrades to further improve production. Work with product development on any new projects targeted towards your specific lines. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred Experience in plastics processing preferred but not required Must be self-motivated with excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proven troubleshooting abilities. Design experience with 2-D CAD or 3-D Modeling. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently with assistance. Ability to climb ladders or steps regularly. Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms or horns. Excellent communication skills utilizing various methods of communication. Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts in overhead and awkward positions. Ability to work in dusty/smoky environment on a regular basis. Must have the ability to be on-call for any shift as necessary. Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift. Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis. 11. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches.
