Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper. The Machine Shop Helper will assist personnel within the machine shop with general transport, maintenance, and troubleshooting duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the smooth transition and transport of parts from the machine shop to inspection. Assist with maintenance on machines within the Machine Shop. Ensure machine shop is clean in appearance including removing trash and sweeping as required. Successfully operate forklift and move pallets of goods throughout shop floor. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or G.E.D. required. Minimum of two years of general assistant experience in a large machinery/equipment-manufacturing environment strongly desired. Basic mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure required. Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus Valid state driver's license in good standing is required. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, proactively contributing ideas to improve operations required. Demonstrated ability to be adaptable, tactful, and self-directed when faced with tight deadlines and fluid environments required. Basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate in English required. Must possess a proven history of being reliable with excellent attendance.
