HEAD LIFEGUARD I The Pratt Aquatic Center, Tooele, Utah, is adding another head lifeguard to our leadership team. Our coverage needs right now are for help on weekend shifts (may be days and evening as scheduled) and we anticipate needing weekday assistance during the Spring and Summer. More typical duties include: Establishes and maintains a working environment conducive to positive morale, Ensure quality service, Ensure policy and procedure compliance at the facility to provide for a safe environment Assigns lifeguards to duty stations. Monitors assigned staff at work and provides routine correction for deficiencies (refers more complex or unusual problems to the higher-level leadership for assistance). Resolves day-to-day questions and concerns that arise during the shift Ensures a neat and clean facility. Performs custodial duties as assigned or needed. Inspects pool facility for proper working order and hazardous conditions. Monitors pool water conditions to determine compliance with health department water quality standards. Takes pH and chlorine readings. Secures door locks at closing. Serve in lifeguard rotation, monitors pool areas, and rotates stations. Detects calls for assistance from distressed swimmers, performs swimming rescues on patrons in distress. Administers first-aid and CPR as needed. Responds and assists with emergencies as needed. Provides oversite during emergency situations. Contacts and updates Lead Aquatics Operator and or Aquatics Superintendent on emergency situations and any time 911 is called and EMS teams are activated. Takes the lead role during all emergency and accident situations in the absence of Lead Aquatics Operator and Aquatics Superintendent. Participates in In-service and leadership training. Our ideal candidate will be at least 18 years old; have a high school diploma or GED; possess and maintain lifeguard, first aid, and CPR for the professional rescuer certification (or a combination of experience and education).
