Vali Inc has an opportunity for Automotive Worker II to perform a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles such as, places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans, and replaces oil and air filters. The Automotive Worker adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring, and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas. Responsibilities: Uses personal tools along with government furnished special tools to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on all automotive tactical and combat equipment assigned or work loaded to the APS-3 program. Field level maintenance on US military automotive equipment. Includes inspection, parts identification and requisition, servicing, and repair in accordance with technical specifications and specified repair times. Maintain maintenance records and documentation in accordance with government regulations and local policies Properly use, store, accounting for, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste used and generated in the performance of duties. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Movement of materiel and assets with forklifts and dollies Upon notification from the government, deploys to support issuing or receipt of equipment Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must meet deployment qualifications and maintain deployable status Must obtain and maintain local base access 4 years' experience in directly relevant work This position may require computer literacy Certificate of training from vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in automotive maintenance, or related field Certificate of training from a basic automotive maintenance course In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered Ability to comply with all established environmental regulations, methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position Ability to interpret and apply technical instruction, schematics, and diagrams Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License Diesel engine repair: 3 years (Required) Mechanic: 3 years (Required) Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending. Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but not limited to Level III plus/IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts and pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests/belts, sound suppression devices, etc. Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc. Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking u p stairs. Work schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm (OT/weekends as required during ship cycle) Vali Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
