Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Vali Inc has an opportunity for Ground Support Equipment Mechanic. Candidate makes repairs to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) following orders of a higher-grade worker, troubleshooting malfunctions of GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools, prepares GSE for storage and transportation, uses automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains external fuel and grounding systems. This worker performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to GSE Mechanic I and assists GSE Mechanic III. Qualifications: Five years directly related work experience. Certificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in electrical or automotive repair is preferred. Completion of the basic Completion of the basic electrical and/or automotive mechanics course, or equivalent. . In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License. US Citizen. Physical Requirements: Lifting to35lb, team lifting to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending. Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) which may include but not limited to Level III plus/IV Individual Body Armor with both front and back ballistic plates, ACH helmet, clothing (undergarments, shirts and pants and/or coveralls), reflective vests/belts, sound suppression devices, etc. Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc. Vali Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
