Vali Inc has an opportunity for Woodworker to support the APS-03 program across the site and build necessary projects as required by the customer. The workshop will be responsible to operate on short time frames to execute no notice missions, supporting the ship of materials . Essential Responsibilities: Test wood samples for moisture content and other physical properties to ensure that it is suitable for use in a product. Operate machines such as saws, shapers, sanders, routers, planers, and joiners to cut wood materials into usable pieces. Measure materials to determine where cuts should be made and use other tools to mark the placement of holes or other features on materials. Prepare sketches of design ideas for customers or management to help them visualize their finished product before starting construction. Maintain a safe work environment by following safety regulations and wearing appropriate safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, glasses, and earplugs. Cut boards, cabinets, doors, staircases, window frames, molding, and other wood products according to blueprints or verbal instructions from supervisors. Repair damaged wood items by replacing broken pieces or sanding scratches off surfaces. Sand and stain wood surfaces to prepare them for finishing or apply protective coatings such as varnish or lacquer. Measure and cut wood to specified lengths using handsaws, power miter saws, circular saws, table saws, and other power tools. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access. Must possess a valid State Driver's License. Proven experience in wood working environment. Requires working knowledge of power tools. Must be able to read blueprints. Requires at least 2 years of experience in wood working. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and ensure completion of all tasks involved. Desired Skills : Working knowledge of Army class of supply system and National Stock numbers (NSN/NIIN). Experience in Material Management. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand 2 to 3 hours per day. Must be able to walk between 4 to 5 hours per day. Must be able to lift 35lbs to 50lbs periodically. Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach, and climb periodically. Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
